Let’s cut to the chase: Sometimes things just don’t go the way you want them to. Does that stink? Sure. Is there a way to make changes and course correct for next time? You bet. Try This!

1. Imagine there’s a recording of what you had been saying in the past that you didn’t love. Rewind your mind. Make a note of what you’re saying, what’s going on around you, and even what you’re thinking.
2. Spot a moment that might have contributed to your challenge, the ones where you wished could stop the tape and change what you said.
3. Pick just one thing to tweak and record. What did you shift?
4. Press play on the video. Did the outcome ultimately change? Pinpoint what leads you to success and repeat it.

Change happens. It is one of the few constants in life. Most people map out a path of gradual, step-by-step, linear change for their lives (think s-l-o-w). However, it's quantum change: "seeing the light", a "bolt out of the blue" that makes the most significant transformations in our lives. How does quantum change happen? Why do some of us experience it and what kind of people do we want to become as a result? This is worth thinking about. That is why for the past 10 years I have encouraged everyone to watch what they are saying. It is the little everyday things we said in the past that are making our todays. The simplest way I know to begin changing your self-talk is to try our new app. It is free for a month. You just turn it on and let it play in the background as you cook dinner or commute to work. The jars say Heavenly (speaking in tongues), Positive (Shad Helmstetter (Self-Talk Plus Self Esteem), Ignore (not talked to) and Negative (Negative words like you are sick). I love the quote from Winston Churchill, "Who should I be today?"... It came from a speech he gave on the day he was inaugurated as Prime Minister. Let's go deeper with that...

I LOVE that quote and invite you to ponder it. Most people choose to remain ordinary "eggs" by default. They just continue to talk what is rather then seeing themselves somewhere in the future. When people begin speaking positive “‘Truth-Talk’” they often ask how long it will take for them to change their behavior. The answer is, if you’re speaking positive “‘Self-Talk’” on a daily basis, it typically takes from three to four weeks for you brain to begin to rewire itself. The key is repetition. That’s why it helps to listen to “‘Truth-Talk’” several times a day. If you tend to have a negative bent in your personality listening to “‘Truth-Talk’” is like learning a new language. The more you use your new vocabulary the stronger and more lasting the new “‘Self-Talk”’ will be wired into your brain.
