Truth Wins

"'Truth-Talk'" Rice Experiment This time we added a new dimension to the experiment. The jars say Heavenly (speaking in tongues), Positive (Shad Helmstetter (Self-Talk Plus Self Esteem), Ignore (not talked to) and Negative (Negative words like you are sick). Come back in a week to see how it's progressing.
HI EVERYBODY! Today we have a little SMUSH challenge for you! Have you ever felt the urge to just make something? Well, this is your chance! Make something today; paint, draw, sketch, build, ANYTHING! You may find yourself creating something wonderful that you're very proud of, or something that you want to rip up and throw away. At Truthwins, we think the best way to live creatively is to look at something that you aren't proud of, and say, "Huh, I don't love this, but let me think of the ways that I can make it better. If I try and it just gets worse, then maybe I'll do better next time." After all, life is full of surprises! And, if you don't know what to do then you can just make a big mess on the floor and take a picture of it... We decided to make our own Valentine's Day Cards for our Great-grandmothers. A great way to SMUSH.

Book of Job - Lesson 4

"You shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free." Notice it does not say, "You shall hear the Truth and the Truth will set you free. To obtain the blessing God has promised you must get to know him. Just hearing and quoting his word is not enough. Faith without works is dead. Reading and mediatating on the Word will not build your faith. Reading and mediatating on the Word will feed your faith and build a capacity for faith, but faith must also be a part of our daily speech. In other words, the Word that you feed on has to be exercised daily. It has to become a part of your daily speech. That word has to become a part of your daily actions.

I love the quote from Winston Churchill, "Who should I be today?"... It came from a speech he gave on the day he was inaugurated as Prime Minister. Let's go deeper with that...
It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.
C. S. Lewis
I LOVE that quote and invite you to ponder it. Most people choose to remain ordinary "eggs" by default. They just continue to talk what is rather then seeing themselves somewhere in the future. Change your self-talk and you will change your world. Begin today by seeing the Truth about yourself. I am what I say I am. I can do what I say I can do. I am more than a conquerer in Christ Jesus.

SMUSH a Book!

It is always fun on a cold and rainy day to snuggle up by the fireplace and read a book. One of my classic favorites is Chicken Little: The Sky is Falling. Sometimes it seems as if everything is going wrong - the sky is falling. Fortunately in the end we find out that the world is not ending! Instead, they all lived happily ever after. Sometimes we need to remember that things are not as bad as they might seem. If we spend more time SMUSHing life will be more fun. Which character do you like best from this story, Henny-Penny, Rooster-Booster, Ducky-Chucky, Goosie-Brucie, or Turkey-Perky?
